Company offers a new service that guides businesses through the energy efficiency loans process
Falmouth-based Lightwater Environmental Ltd, is helping companies in Devon and Cornwall to navigate the often-complex procedure of securing a government-funded loan to undertake works to boost energy efficiency.
Interest-free loans to install energy-efficient equipment are readily available from the Carbon Trust (for businesses and third-sector organisations) and Salix (for public sector bodies). However, the process of applying for these pots of money can involve time and manpower that most companies cannot spare.
For this reason, Lightwater, which supplies and fits a range of energy-efficiency products across the Devon and Cornwall area, is offering a new service guiding companies through the loans process.
Lightwater, which supplies and fits a range of energy-efficiency products across the Devon and Cornwall area, is now one of a select group of mechanical and electrical installation firms, energy consultants, specifiers and contractors fully trained in the specification and installation of Energys Group Ltd’s ‘Save It Easy®’ lighting solutions. ‘Save It Easy®’, is a retrofit device that allows new-generation T5 energy-efficient fluorescent lamps to be used with the existing light fittings and saves up to 65 per cent of energy and carbon. The product is just one of the proven energy-efficient devices on the market that typically qualifies for Carbon Trust and Salix funding.
Mike Tomlinson, Lightwater Sales Director, comments: “With the right expertise on hand, securing a loan to install energy-efficient equipment can be a quick and painless process. Once an energy-saving device is installed, the cost savings, as a result of reduced energy consumption, are typically enough to cover the loan repayments. And once the loan is repaid, a company is able to retain the annual savings going forward – while also making a positive commitment to sustainability. It’s a win-win situation.”
